It felt great to be back presenting at a conference after a two-year rollercoaster filled with different experiences and life lessons! 😊 Honestly, getting to watch droplets through a high-speed camera again after nearly five years made me genuinely happy. This past week, I finally had the chance to dive back into the academic conference scene, and with a brand-new concept to boot: conferenception :P
Since the TFEC 2026 conference (March 9–12) and the DCAMM symposium (March 11–13) overlapped, I was physically in Viborg, catching my colleagues’ presentations, while simultaneously tuning into several productive sessions virtually through the TFEC interface. On the final day of TFEC, I presented our own work virtually and managed to follow three other exceptionally well-prepared studies.

A generic video on what we observed (I cannot provide more information openly as we are planning to dig this phenomena more in)

And here we go with Team SDU :)

TFEC is a conference I’ve wanted to attend in person for a long time, but haven't had the chance over the last two years. This year was virtual for me again, but I’m really hoping to make it there in person next year.
As for DCAMM, it was my first time attending, and I absolutely loved it. It’s got that "boutique but high-impact" feel—a refreshing change from massive conferences. In just three days, we toured a big factory like Grundfos, listened to nearly a hundred presentations, and caught some great keynotes. And I won't even get started on the group morning run with the DCAMM crew! 😊
I attached some of the photos below from Grundfos visit:
